SAIL held an auction for 1,500 t of steel grade pig iron (by road) on 4 Dec’21 from its IISCO steel plant in West Bengal. Buyers booked the entire quantity at a weighted average price of INR 36,000/t exw. At the previous auction conducted on 1 Dec, the bid price stood at INR 36,200/t. However, the company’s management had not approved the lot on higher price expectations.
