India: Coal-based power generation drops 7%, m-o-m, in Nov’21

India’s coal-based power generation decreased by 7% on the month to 77.49 billion units in Nov’21, the lowest in FY’22. Easing power demand at the onset of winter coupled with increased coal supplies has helped the country tide over a crippling coal shortage. Inventory levels at power plants improved to 17.53 mn t in end-Nov compared to 10.52 mn t in Oct.
