No respite in the near term for Steel Long prices

Indian Steel long prices see no sign of improvement in near future. As today big structure manufacturer based in central part (Raipur) reduces their price by Rs 300-900/mt. 

Offer of Angle – 130 MM: Rs 32200, 150 MM: Rs 32500, 200MM: Rs 33,500. Channel offers 250MM: Rs 32300, 400C: Rs 33,000. Beam offers stand 300MM: Rs 32100, 400MM: Rs 32,500, 600MM: Rs 34,800. All prices are basic /mt. ED, loading and taxes extra. 

Small manufacturer are selling at a discount of Rs 500-700/mt from the branded as Beam 200MM trade Rs 32,000-33,000 price range. Small size 40MM Angle offered at Rs 31,700-31500/mt. 

Similarly prices in eastern region at Durgapur reduced prices by Rs 400-700 in 4-5 days. Poor demand for finish steel esp from North India pulled down the prices. 

Angle offers 130MM: Rs 33,250, 150MM: Rs 33,500 offers of Channel 125,150,250MM : Rs 33,250, 300MM: Rs 33,500 Beam offers 200 MM: Rs 33,250, 300: Rs 33,500, 400MM: Rs 35,000. All prices are basic /mt. ED, loading and taxes extra.

Manufacturers stop producing irregular sizes or heavy size in structure items. “Lesser demand from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar build more pressure on us as demand goes below regular average sales” says a well known traded based at Durgapur.
