Eastern India-based private plants sold about 2,000 t of pig iron to Punjab at an average price of INR 37,500/t exw. Slightly lower grade material (upto 1% Si) was sold at INR 37,000-37,500/t exw, while pig iron with 1-1.5% Si was traded at INR 37,500-38,000/t exw. The freight for Ludhiana (Punjab) is estimated at INR 2,800/t. Offers for material with 1-1.5% Si content were reported at INR 40,800-41,000/t DAP Ludhiana today.
