Orissa Mining Corp Offers 0.3 MnT Iron Ore

Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), a state government undertaking company, is offering Iron ore Lumps (10-40 mm, basis 62% Fe) from Kurmitar/Khandadhar Iron ore mines of Koira region in an open sale offer.

OMC’s Kurmitar (Khandadhar) mines which had been closed after Supreme Court’s order of suspending operations in mines running under second deemed renewal, has invited sales of 300,000 MT of Iron ore in an open sale offer.

In the recent development, Orissa government has renewed 7 Iron ore mines (4 Tata, 2 Sail, 1 OMC). This open offer will certainly give a huge relief to Sponge and Steel makers, who are deprived of Iron ore since Supreme Court’s order.

Material will be sold on First-Come-First-Serve basis to end-user plants of Odisha and outside. Mentioned material, will be sold only to end-user plant in Odisha and eligible plants (Steel, Sponge iron and Pig iron plants) outside the state.

Material will be sold at price of INR 4,250/MT (inclusive of royalty and exclusive of other taxes & duties as applicable). Prices have gone up by INR 500-550/MT from last offer.

The entire allotted quantity should be lifted by 30 Sep, 2014.

Buyer need to arrange trucks for lifting the material from mines on his own. The responsibility of OMC ceases once the material is loaded into trucks.
