Pakistan: Ferrous scrap imports up 6%, m-o-m, in Oct’21

Leading South Asian ferrous scrap importer Pakistan has recorded an increase in monthly ferrous scrap imports by 6% in Oct’21 on active restocking and healthy steel demand.
The country’s scrap imports stood at 0.35 mn t in Oct against 0.33 mn t in Sep, as per SteelMint data.
However, on a y-o-y basis, import volumes fell by 24% from 0.46 mn t in Oct’20.
