SteelMint Introduces Special Report on
“Iron Ore Railway Movement”
NMDC, a state owned and India’s largest Iron ore mine, has loaded 354 rakes of Iron ore in the month of May’14, which increases by 10% from preceding month. Every rake carries approximately 3,850 MT. NMDC produced about 30 MnT of Iron ore in FY14, out of which, 20 MnT was from Bailadila/Kirandul mines located in Chhattisgarh.
It was also noticed that Sponge manufacturers based in Chhattisgarh paced up their purchases from NMDC after 26 mines running under deemed renewal in Odisha were ordered to close operations by the Supreme Court.
According to trade sources, Essar’s pipeline which was under maintenance, booked only 200,000 MT in the month of May, 2014. However, operations have been resumed recently.
