Prices fell by INR 600/t in the northern region, whereas in the west and south prices stayed firm despite declining prices in the semi-finished steel market. Near-term price directions are not clear, although induction furnace units are trying to hold on to current levels, which may resist any major fall in prices, trader sources informed.
