India: JSPL’s steel sales fall by 21%, m-o-m, in Oct’21

JSPL recorded steel sales at 0.59 mn t in Oct’21, down 21% against 0.75 mn t in Sep.
The government’s focus on supplying coal to the power sector resulted in shortage of rakes, impacting sales volumes, company officials informed.
Exports accounted for 23% of total sales at 140,000 t.
Crude steel production rose by 1%, m-o-m, to 0.62 mn t in Oct.
