China: Met coke production falls by 3% m-o-m in Oct’21

China’s metallurgical coke output was 35.9 mn t in Oct’21, down 3.2% m-o-m and 11.3% y-o-y, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The decline in production can be attributed to increasing restrictions on coke plants due to strict environmental checks on carbon emissions. China’s met coke output during Jan-Oct’21 stood at 394.1 mn t, almost same as against CPLY.
