Amidst lack of enquiries from sponge iron manufacturers, 2,000 t of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 13,000/t at Gangavaram. Demand for imported coal continues to remain subdued as buyers pin hopes on prices correcting further. However, traders are refraining from lowering offers due to the recent rise in RB1 (6000 NAR) prices to $149/t FOB.
