India: JSPL mulls INR 18k cr investment to boost capacity at Angul

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) is likely to invest INR 18,000 crore to ramp up its steelmaking capacity to 12 mn t at Angul by CY’23. The expansion, which includes a 4.25 mn t/year blast furnace, 2.7 mn t DRI, and 6.3 mn t SMS facilities, would be carried out through internal accruals. JSPL plans to increase capacity to 15 mn t by 2025.
