NMDC posts 1.09% Y-o-Y drop in 2012-13 Iron ore output 

NMDC – India's largest state owned Iron ore producer with an annual production capacity of 30 million tons (MnT) posts a (0.3 MnT) 1.09% Y-oY drop to 27 MnT of total iron ore output in 2012-13.

Of the total 27 MnT, NMDC produced 8 MnT iron ore from Donimalai and Kumarswamy mines located in the state of Karnataka.

The rest 19 MnT was contribution from Bailadila mines based in the state of Chhattisgarh.

To domestic consumers, the miner supplied a total of 24.67 MnT iron ore i.e. 91% of its production.

In FY 2012-13, India's total iron ore output was 142 MnT and NMDC's share of contribution stands at 19%.

In FY 2011-12, NMDC produced 27.3 MnT iron ore and supplied 26.91 MnT to domestic customers.

India's total iron ore production was 167.28 MnT and total domestic consumption was 116.3 MnT, where NMDC's share was 16% for production and 23% for supplying it to Indian buyers.

In FY 2010-11, the state owned miners total iron ore supply to domestic market was 23.75 MnT.
