Melting scrap prices increased by 2%, d-o-d, in north India, especially in the key Mandi Gobindgarh market in Punjab. Due to lesser offers for scrap, buyers had to raise their bids amidst better demand for some finished steel products. However, scrap prices remained flat in a few western India-based markets on routine procurement, SteelMint notes.
