Japan: Tokyo Steel raises scrap purchase prices again

  • Tokyo Steel has hiked scrap purchase price for the fourth time this week.
  • The steelmaker has raised bids by JPY 500/t ($4) for the Tahara unit from 23 Oct.
  • Post-revision, the company’s bid price for H2 scrap stands at JPY 59,000/t ($518) for Tahara, prices for other plants remain unchanged.
  • Limited offers on chances of further price hike is triggering the continuous rise.
