India: Alang shipbreaking melting scrap prices hit all-time high

Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market hit an all-time high since Mar’12, as per data maintained with SteelMint. Heavy Melting Scrap (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 40,000/t while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 41,000/t. Trade participants expect that prices are less likely to see any major contraction on a d-o-d basis, SteelMint notes.
