State-owned IDCOL Ferro Chrome & Alloys Limited re-invites sealed tenders, for the sale of High Carbon Ferro Chrome (HCFC) of 1500 MT approximately, out of which 1400 MT is offered for HCFC (Cr 57 – 64%) lumps, and 100 MT for HCFC (Cr 60 – 65%) lumps. According to industry sources this tender includes unsold material from the previous tender, as the last tender did not fetch adequate response. However, no company official was available to comment on the matter, and no clarifications could be obtained.
The last date for receipt of bids is 3.00 PM on 20 May, 2013.
Domestic offers for HC Ferro Chrome of grade 60%, with Carbon content 6-8% are in the range of Rs. 67,000 – 68,000 /MT Ex-Works basis. It is to be noted that the fall in HC Ferro Chrome prices are in line with the slowdown in the Chinese Stainless Steel production and demand-side constraints from end users in Japan and European Union.
