SteelMint’s assessment for sponge C-DRI (70:30, mix material) increased by a whooping INR 2,050/t today to INR 36,450/t exw-Rourkela. Supply concerns amid rising domestic coal and steel billet prices continued to support sponge iron prices, SteelMint notes.
About 2,940 t of C-DRI deals were reported at INR 36,000-36,500/t, while a few producers raised offers to INR 37,000/t exw-Rourkela.
