Brazil’s exports of ferro silicon increased by 2.4%, m-o-m, to 13,211 t in Sep’21. Due to low production in China as a result of the ongoing power crisis – power comprises 40% of ferro silicon production cost – the buying interest of South Korea and Taiwan has mainly veered towards Brazil. However, ferro silicon exports from Brazil fell by 19.7%, y-o-y, in the Jan-Sep’21 period.
