Non-coking Coal imports in week 20 have been improved significantly by 56%. The sharp improvement in Coal imports has been resulted in view of upcoming monsoon and INR appreciation. Thus, total 3.8 MnT of imported Non-Coking Coal landed at Indian ports.
SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 3.8 MnT at the end of week 20 which showing a growth of 56% from 2.5 MnT of the preceding week. Out of the total 4.9 MnT imports, nearly 77% comprises of Non-coking reaching from different destination.
Indonesia, a major supplier of Non-coking, supplied around 2.7 MnT and registered a growth of 38% than the last week.
A significant amount of Non-coking is also imported from, South Africa, Australia & Mozambiuqe. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 0.92 MnT from South Africa. About 0.08 MnT & 0.03 MnT Non-coking arrived from Australia & Mozambique at Krishnapatnam & Mangalore port respectively.
Mundra port, on the West Coast of India, has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.74 MnT of Coal. The contribution of quantity was given by Adani Power, Coastal Gujarat Power, Adani Enterprises & Shree Cement as per the consideration of 33 major & minor Indian ports. Krishnapatnam is the second highest quantity port that imported around 0.60 MnT of Non-coking.
Adani Enterprises, Adani Power & Agarwal Coal are the major importers at the week ended on 17 May, 2014. Adani Enterprises has imported around 0.92 MnT Coal from Indonesia & South Africa. Adani Power & Agarwal Coal have` imported around 0.32 MnT & 0.20 MnT of Coal from Indonesia & South Africa.
