Indonesia’s benchmark coal price, also known as HBA price (Harga Batubara Acuan), has been fixed at $161.63/t for Oct’21, up 8% on month. The benchmark price has been rising since Apr. Heavy rains continue to disrupt mining activity in Indonesia. Miners are struggling to meet their Domestic Market Obligation (DMO), while demand from China remains robust on expected surge in heating demand during winter.
