Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant and Zaporozhye Ferroalloy Plant, the two largest ferroalloys producers in Ukraine, have decided to cut production by nearly 50% on increased electricity tariffs and high cost of imported coal. Nikopol would shut five out of its 13 furnaces, reducing output to 35,000 t from 65,000/t in Sep’21. Zaporozhye will stop operations at two silico manganese furnaces, reducing monthly production by 5,000 t.
