India: Power plants have about 4 days of coal stocks left

According to government data, the stockpiles at power plants have inched down by 7%, w-o-w, to 8.01 mn t as on 30 Sep’21 – sufficient for four days’ usage. Out of the data collected for 104 power plants, 42 have less than seven days of stocks left, 61 have less than four days of stocks left, while one plant has less than three days of coal stocks.
