Pellet prices rise in Eastern India largely due to low inventories and fewer offers in the market
Arya Iron & Steel, having a 1.2 MnT pa Pellet (Fe 63%) plant in Barbil (Odisha) has sold about 12,000-15,000 MT Pellets at INR 9,000/MT (loaded) to buyers based in eastern India. The raw material has been sold at a high price because of low inventory at seller’s end, according to trade sources.
Odisha based Pellet producers namely JSPL, Ardent Steel and Essar Steel hold offers as of now.
Godavari Power & Ispat, operating a 1.8 MnT pa Pellet plant in Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and largest Pellet manufacturer in Central India is offering Fe 64% Pellets at INR 9,400/MT (basic).
