Affected by the Chinese government’s electricity curtailment measures, POSCO’s stainless steel plant in Jiangsu province has suspended production. The plant is expected to restart in early-Oct’21. Strict control over energy consumption has forced many companies in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces to plan temporary suspension of production. Power rationing is hurting foreign firms, and South Korea may intervene to improve the situation, as per reports.
