China’s coal production increased 4% on the year to 2.6 bn t during the Jan-Aug’21 period. The country’s top three provinces produced over 72% of the country’s total coal output. Output from Shanxi province stood at 775 mn t, followed by Inner Mongolia at 649 mn t, and Shaanxi at 455 mn t. China’s coal production in 2020 stood at 4.28 bn t.
