The Indonesian thermal coal index for nearly all grades extended their rally this week as they surged by $9-16/t amid China’s robust downstream demand and heavy rains keeping supply tight in Indonesia. High-CV 6500 GAR coal prices rose by $12/t, w-o-w, to $161/t FOB, while 5800 and 5000 GAR rose by $16/t, and 4200 GAR by $10/t.
