India: Alang shipbreaking scrap prices remain stable

Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market are stable today, as per SteelMint assessment. Heavy Melting Scrap (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 36,000/t, while attachment scrap prices have been reported at INR 37,000/t. Buyers of melting scrap are trying to their improve conversion spread from melting scrap to ingot to prevent narrowing realisations, resulting in stable prices, SteelMint notes.
