Australian 5500 NAR grade coal that was being offered at $135/t till last week now rose to the levels of $140/t, FoB basis. Indian buyers avoided booking Australian coal and preferred China reloaded Australian coal cargoes which are not available now. For Indian cement manufacturers, imported pet coke has once again become a cheaper option against thermal coal on per CV basis given the latter’s escalated price.
