In a confirmed deal, 55,000 t of South African coal has been booked at $155/t CNF Port Qasim. Amid elevated thermal coal prices, South African coal is proving to be cheaper by $4-5/t against similar grade coal from Mozambique and Indonesia. Between 11-18 Sep, Pakistan had 98,390 t of South African coal at berth and 59,550 t at anchorage position, as per vessel data compiled by CoalMint.
