Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan rose by RMB 20/t ($3/t) on 22 Sep’21. The prices of domestic billet stood at RMB 5,230/t ($809/t), inclusive of 13% VAT. According to data maintained with SteelMint, China’s re-bar futures contract for Jan’22 delivery at the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) closed today at RMB 5,656/t ($875/t), witnessing a sharp recovery of RMB 178/t ($27/t) against the closing on 17 Sep.
