India: Alang shipbreaking melting scrap remain largely stable

Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang – the world’s leading ship recycling hub – are mostly stable, d-o-d, as per SteelMint assessment. Heavy Melting Scrap (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 36,000/t, while attachment scrap prices have been reported at INR 37,000/t. Despite a marginal correction in semi-finished steel prices by INR 200-300/t during the closing hours yesterday, scrap prices are rangebound today, SteelMint notes.
