Pig iron imports into Turkey, in January-March 2013, has come down on Y-o-Y basis and as compared to October-December 2012, by 24% and 15% respectively.
It imported a total of 277,286 MT of Pig iron in Q1 of 2013, where Ukraine supplied 175,021 MT (drop of 21.4% Y-o-Y) and Russia exported 88,069 MT (drop of 24.2% Y-o-Y; rise of 71% from October to December 2013).
For March 2013, import figures saw a fall of 35.3% in comparison to Q1 of 2012 and 4.1% Y-oY.
Turkey's average import price was $422/MT, down by $70/MT Y-o-Y. And, total value from imports slipped by 40.3% Y-o-Y to $36 million.
