The Indonesian government is considering levying export tax on products containing less than 70% nickel, as per latest reports. Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has informed that a majority of nickel products exported have Ni content of 30-40%, which can be further refined domestically to at least 70%. The country halted exports of unprocessed nickel ore last year to support the domestic supply chain.
