SteelMint’s assessment for sponge C-DRI (FeM 80%, mix material) stands at INR 30,950/t ($421) in Odisha, up INR 250/t. Around 1,600 t of deals were confirmed in the range of INR 30,700-31,000/t exw-Rourkela. Sources said that due to Vishwakarma Puja today the market was a bit slow, although sponge iron prices remained strong, as increasing billet prices helped keep sponge iron prices supported.
