With high imported thermal coal prices, buyers in Pakistan are continuing to prefer Afghanistan-origin thermal coal which is comparatively cheaper. While Afghan 6500 GAR grade coal is being traded at 165/t CFR Pakistan, there are hardly any offers for high-CV coal from Australia and Indonesia. In the case of South Africa, 5700-6000 NAR grade coal is being traded at $176-180 CFR Pakistan, sources informed.
