SteelMint’s assessment for sponge iron in Odisha stands at INR 30,400/t on 10 Sept’21. A total of 6,170 t of C-DRI (70:30 mix material) deals were confirmed in the range of INR 30,300-30,500/t exw. A few deals for around 2,000 t were also concluded to Madhya Pradesh and Nagpur in Maharashtra at INR 29,800/t exw-Rourkela. According to sources, active bookings and increasing billet prices have kept sponge iron prices supported.
