Private steelmaker JSW Steel has maintained 92% capacity utilisation in Aug’21, as per a recent release issued by the company. However, marred by the sluggish demand, the company’s production volumes have declined on a monthly basis.
Product wise volumes in Aug:
- Crude steel output stood at 1.377 million tonnes (mn t), which was 1.382 mn t in Jul.
- Flat-rolled production at 0.899 mn t, as against 0.934 mn t in Jul.
- Flat-long output at 0.301 mn t compared with 0.306 mn t in Jul.
Also, the company has said that the planned shutdown at its flagship Vijayanagar works would impact flat steel output.
