Turkey: Ferrous scrap imports up 20% on month in Jul’21

Turkey, the world’s largest ferrous scrap importer, witnessed a sharp rise in imports by 20% to 2.35 mn t in Jul’21 in contrast to 1.96 mn t in Jun, as per data compiled by SteelMint.
The Netherlands was the top exporter to Turkey at 0.37 mn t during the month followed by Russia and Lithuania at 0.23 mn t and 0.21 mn t, respectively.
However, on y-o-y basis, imports remained stable at 2.35 mn t in Jul.
