SteelMint’s price assessment for sponge iron in the Odisha market remained unchanged on 1 Sept’21. Around 2,950 t of C-DRI (70:30 mix material) deals were confirmed in the range of INR 30,700-31,100/t exw. A deal comprising 750 t of C-DRI was reported to Muzaffarnagar at INR 30,700/t exw-Rourkela, with the freight charge at INR 3,200/t. SteelMint’s price assessment for sponge C-DRI stands at INR 31,000/t exw-Rourkela as most mill owners continue to keep prices firm owing to few order bookings.
