In a confirmed deal, low-CV Indonesian 3400 GAR coal was heard traded at $46/t on FoB basis against the last week’s index price of $42/t for Sept’21 vessel loading. Indian demand for low-CV Indonesian coal, especially from the power sector, has gained momentum amid higher 4200 GAR prices. India’s power demand is anticipated to go up in the coming months with the monsoons nearing an end. In two other confirmed deals, 4200 GAR coal trade was concluded at $72-73.5/t FoB Kalimantan for Sept shipment.
