Bolani iron ore mines belonging to the Odisha Group of Mines of SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), has set a new single day production record of 28,617 t on 23 Aug’21. The previous best single day production from Bolani was 27,393 t achieved on 17 Feb’20. Notably, Bolani registered the best monthly production in Jul’21 by producing 645,863 t of run of mines (ROM) iron ore. Bolani had commenced operation in 1960. It was a captive mine under the Raw Materials Division of SAIL till Jun’21, with an approved capacity of 12 mn t of ROM. The mine became part of the Odisha Group of Mines of SAIL, RSP from Jul’21.
