Alang’s shipbreaking scrap prices have recovered by INR 500-600/t, d-o-d, while climbing INR 1,200/t in the last couple of days, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 36,200-36,300/t. Attachment scrap prices stand at INR 37,200-37,300/t. A marginal uptick in semi-finished and finished steel prices resulted in higher offers on 24 Aug’21.
