Leading merchant chrome ore miner Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) will conduct an auction for 35,100 t of chrome ore (42-54% Cr2O3) on 31 Aug’21, as per latest information available with SteelMint. Out of the allotted quantity, 34,800 t is from the South Kaliapani and Sukrangi mines, while 300 t of chrome ore (46-48% Cr2O3) is from OMC’s chrome ore beneficiation (COB) plant. It is expected that the miner would reduce prices of chrome ore considering the bearish ferro chrome sentiments in the domestic and exports markets.
