Crude steel production for the 64 countries tracked by the World Steel Association (WSA) stood at 161.70 mn t in Jul’21, down 4% as against 167.90 mn t a month ago. However, steel output rose by 3% on year against 156.53 mn t in the same period last year.
Top producers:
1. China churned out 86.80 mn t of crude steel, a decline of 8% m-o-m
2. Indian mills produced 9.80 mn t, 4% higher on month
3. Japan’s crude steel production dropped marginally by 1% m-o-m to 8 mn t.
