Alang’s shipbreaking scrap prices have recovered by INR 200-300/t, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 35,000-35,100/t, while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 36,000-36,100/t. Improvement in buying enquiries for semi-finished steel was witnessed in the local Bhavnagar market resulting in higher offers today. However, transactions have not been adequate enough to push up scrap prices by INR 200-300/t on 24 Aug’21.
