India: Supply crunch keeps South African RB2 coal prices elevated at Ennore

A confirmed deal has been heard for 10,000 t of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal at INR 9,700/t at Ennore Port today. Low availability of imported coal stock at ports in south India has kept prices elevated. Another deal for 4,000 t of RB2 coal was heard at INR 9,100/t, ex-Gangavaram. A few traders at Gangavaram had reduced their offer prices amid ample availability of cheaper domestic coal, while a few direct importers stuck to their offers for portside stocks at INR 9400-9,500/t due to comparatively higher costs of landed imports.
