SAIL had scheduled an auction for 6,000 t of basic grade pig iron from the Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh today. Buyers booked the entire quantity at a weighted average price of INR 38,500/t exw. At the previous auction on 13 Aug, 8,000 t of pig iron was booked at INR 39,000/t exw. The bid price had decreased by INR 500/t ($6/t), as per SteelMint data.
