Australian premium low-volatile (PLV) hard coking coal (HCC) prices increased by $0.50/t to $222.75/t FoB on 17 Aug’21, as some spot transactions were concluded in the ex-China market amidst persistent supply tightness. Importantly, shortage of domestic coking coal has boosted prices of domestic coal as well as imported PLV into China, as per latest reports.
