The power outage at RBCT on 13 Aug’21, which had forced state-owned logistics firm Transnet to delay offloading of trains for 10 hours, has been normalised and any major impact on coal output from miners has been ruled out, as per market participants. There has been a series of disruptions including train derailments, civil unrest, and force majeure at RBCT and Durban ports this year that have impacted coal shipments from South Africa.
